The only survivor of a California murder-suicide tragedy, which ended in the deaths of his mother and three siblings, is now dead.

Ezequiel Valdivia had been on life support owing to his critical condition after his father, Jose Valdivia, shot him in the head on the 16th of November.

The young boy was pronounced dead on Saturday night.

During that fateful night, Valdivia, 31, shot his estranged wife, Sabrina Rosario, and his four sons Ezequiel, Zeth, Zuriel, and Enzi. They were nine, eleven, five and three years old, respectively. He shot all of them before turning the gun on himself in his wife's Paradise Hills home.

The shooting took place a day before Rosario got a restraining order against her husband, Valdivia.

The boy was the only one to survive at the time but has now succumbed to his wounds.

His uncle, Karl Albright, told media outlets that doctors confirmed to the family, Ezequiel was brain dead and not responding to any of their tests.

Albright also added that God wanted him to come home. Had he wanted him to remain alive, the boy would still be here. He consoled the family, saying they must be together in heaven playing and rollerblading.

Albright also stated Ezequiel's organs are going to be donated.

He said it was a tragic thing for the rest of the family though if they could turn it around for anyone else, then that is what they ask.

The family claims the murder-suicide was a violent domestic attack on the part of the father.

According to Albright and the rest of the extended family, not to mention court documents, Valdivia and Rosario separated a year ago after he was unfaithful to her for a second time. Valdivia began to stalk and harass her after the separation.

The couple had been married for 11 years before separating in December 2018, and Rosario filed for divorce the following June.

The dissolution of the marriage was set to be finalized in December of 2019.

Apparently, she had gotten a restraining order against Valdivia, just a day before he killed them according to the police reports.

Rosario stated Valdivia had refused to leave them alone after filing for divorce, and he became obsessed with the idea that she had gotten someone new.

He used the excuse to repeatedly appear unannounced at her home hence the need for the restraining order.

Just ten days before the shooting, Valdivia sent Rosario a picture of the handgun with the caption that "it's sure happening."
