Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican representative of the state of Georgia, has complained to the Pentagon about Guam’s Democratic representative having the island’s National Guard escort him in bringing cookies to her office.

Greene has stated that she was “harassed” and “ambushed” on Monday after the video of three dozen Guam National Guard troops and Michael San Nicholas walking to her office was posted on the internet. Not to mention, she referred to Guam as a foreign country last month, apparently not realizing that it’s actually a U.S. territory.

Nicholas “took the opportunity” to visit her in her office with the members from the U.S. territory to bring her a sweet treat, MSN reported. They were told she was unavailable, but Greene still wrote to the Pentagon to explain her side of the story.

“In recent days, there has been a dangerous and troubling trend in which members of our armed forces are being used to intimidate civilians, harass members of Congress and their staff, and attack conservative journalists for expressing their views,' Greene wrote in the letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and National Guard Chief Gen. Daniel Hokanson.

“Imagine if I, or any of my Republican colleagues from Georgia, marched with members of the Georgia National Guard over to a Democrat Member of Congress' office to ambush and record their staff,” she continued.

Kevin McCarthy, the senior Republican in the House, also chimed in on the incident, which he was also not happy about. He tweeted that they violated Defense Department Directive 1344.10, which “forbids troops from participating in any partisan political activities while in uniform.”

Nicolas argued that he was just taking some of his troops around the Capitol and stopped at many member’s offices and delivered treats as well.

No consequences or actions have been taken against Nicolas or the Guam National Guards that joined him on the tour.
