Denver native Jared Kleinstein started the Tebowing Web site this week after he and his friends took a picture outside a New York bar showing the group in the famous prayer position used by the Broncos' Tim Tebow.

What started out as a joke among friends quickly grew into an Internet fad by Thursday afternoon and caught the eye of the man who made the pose famous.

Tebow has bestowed his blessing upon Tebowing, noting that he learned of new Internet phenomenon through his teammate Von Miller, who was reportedly the first Bronco to practice the art of Tebowing.

According to The Denver Post, Tebow went online and saw the dozens of pictures from across the nation of people in his famous prayer pose.

What's funny about it is how rapidly it's caught on, and how much it has taken off, Tebow told the newspaper. The quarterback added there may be some people who might be Tebowing to mock either him or religion, but said that he is excited about those who actually take it seriously.

It's not my job to see peoples' reasons behind it, but I know [of a kid] with cancer that tweeted me, 'Tebowing while I'm chemoing' -- how cool is that? Tebow told the Post. That's worth it right now. If that gives him any encouragement or puts a smile on his face, or gives him encouragement to pray, that's completely awesome.

According to Kleinstein's definition, Tebowing is when someone gets down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different.

On Thursday, when Tebow found out about the trend, he tweeted his support for the full definition, stating Love it!

Tebow also followed up that tweet with another that he said was his favorite of the day. It was from a young cancer survivor, Joey Norris.

Praying for you and God bless you big man! Tebow tweeted.

Regardless of people's interpretation of the new Internet fad, Tebow told the Post: It is serious, for me. At least it's being talked about, and that's a cool thing. If I can help be an example of that, then I look at that as a blessing.
