Rep. Ilhan Omar isn't pleased by the tirades of Fox host Tucker Carlson, who said the female lawmaker hates America. Carlson ended his show on Tuesday with an attack to the congresswoman, saying she is living proof of the dangers of immigration to the country.

“Ilhan Omar is living proof that the way we practice immigration has become dangerous to this country. A system designed to strengthen America is instead undermining it. Some of the very people we try hardest to help have come to hate us passionately,” Carlson said.

In response, Omar called the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” host a “racist fool”. Omar, took to Twitter to respond to Carlson’s attacks.

Omar’s tweet was a reply to a clip of the TV host’s segment posted by Andrew Lawrence, who said the commentary was an "an absolutely stunning racist attack."

Lawrence works for the activist group Media Matters, which opposes Fox and asks advertisers to stop funding shows like "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

It is not clear how Carlson’s recent comments about Omar hating America would impact advertisers, but social media is now rife with comments saying Carlson’s remarks were a racist rant and the TV host should be fired.

Omar is one of the first Muslim women elected to the US congress. She was born in Somalia, but her family fled during the country's civil war. She moved to the United States at age 12 after living in a refugee camp in Kenya for four years.
